Eras and the Grand Exhibition

How your shop grows, and how the game ends.

Your shop grows through five eras, each with one goal on the objective board. Money alone never skips an era: each one opens with more stars and one real achievement. Things from later eras show up early as locked silhouettes, so you can always see what’s coming.

Pond Brew is still in development, so some of this may change.

The five eras

  1. The back room. Do everything by hand: collect cultures, mix them in the incubator, and sell at the counter yourself.
  2. A real shop. The second shop room opens. Breed pairs in the breeding tank, order new cultures from the supplier catalog, and meet Pip, who works the till.
  3. Plumbing. The lab annex opens. Hand pumps, pipes and a generator start moving cultures for you, and Nori joins to stock the tanks.
  4. Machines. The third shop room and the workshop open. Auto-dosers, a hatchling sorter and Moss the technician keep a whole line running, from culture to sale.
  5. The Exhibition. Rare crown creatures appear, and the exhibition hall gets ready.

Helpers and machines only ever repeat what you already know. Choosing new mixes and pairs is always up to you.

The Grand Exhibition

The objective board shows what the exhibition needs from the very first night:

  • the full shop and lab
  • 48 of the 72 species, from all nine families
  • any 5 of the 9 crowns
  • one full day with the line running from cultures to sale

Prepare it at night at the hall’s board: your crowns go on display, and six special purchases are announced. The next day, six exhibition guests come in among the usual visitors. Sell them all they came for, with your crowns still on show, and it’s a success: confetti, an award by the door, and a results card.

If it doesn’t work out, you lose nothing. Try again any night.

After the ending

You keep your shop and carry on in the same save. Filling the whole journal means every species in all four colours: 288 entries.
